The ninth SoftExpo organized by Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) with the theme Digital Bangladesh in Action was held from 1st to 5th February of this year at Bangabandhu International Convention Center. The SoftExpo 2011 took place in participation of different companies from home and abroad. A total of 110 local companies are showcased their latest products and services including 10 foreign companies.
MetroNet Bangladesh Limited also took part in the exposition demonstrating services like Internet solutions, Intranet services, Managed services, and upcoming Internet Protocol Telephony services. MetroNet 10 years of customer satisfaction initiated huge response on the IP Telephony services where visitors were facilitated to hold video conferencing with any parts of the globe. As always, MetroNet this time too demonstrated real-time video surveillance telecasted from the other part of the city through its robust network.
The 5 day mega event was a grand congregation of ICT companies, personalities, key policy makers, industry leaders, professionals and other ICT stakeholders of the country.
This year, the exposition was categorized in seven zones Business Software zone, e-Commerce zone, e-Governance zone, Communication zone, Mobile Application zone, Multimedia and Animation zone and Outsourcing zone. The exposition included software and IT Enabled Services companies, e-Governance solution providers, mobile content and application developers, communication solution providers, e-commerce portals, ICT training institutes and outsourcing companies.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith inaugurated the SoftExpo as Chief Guest while Commerce Minister Faruk Khan and State Minister for Science and ICT Architect Yeafes Osman attended the program as Special Guests. BASIS has been organizing its annual mega event BASIS SoftExpo since 2003. |
